When I played with the figures as a kid, I used him as a robot soldier, cause he looks like a Cylon. He could shoot lasers from both arms. I’m pretty sure I had 3PO and R2 shooting lasers too. I didn’t see any use for a robot who couldn’t shoot lasers!
Well, Phil, when you’re a little kid just playing with your toys, any random object can become something new and exiting. My dog became “the mysterious beast” to my action figures. My darth vader with a cracked open helmet had his face colored in red and black marker to instantly become a new sith (he kind of looked like darth maul actually…)
and for the record, my darth vader had a Luke skywalker face underneath the helmet. Not only that, but you weren’t supposed to even be able to get to the face. I think I still have that funny little vader.
Awesome.
I am in the enviable position of having a 3-yr-old son who loves playing with his figures – so daddy gets a bunch of guilt-free quality Kenner time
That said – I didn’t see 4-LOM – did you mean Death Star Droid?
I’ve become a geek nazi.
You’re right – I assumed the Death Star droid got that as an EU designation! Yes, old silverhide there is a vintage Star Wars figure, from before ESB. 4-LOM is actually the bounty hunter droid from Empire. They look similar. It’s cool you’re sharing Star Wars with your son!
You make me want to dig my collection out of mothball and play with them again!
I’m sure my kids would like that.
BTW Boba Fett was the coolest looking figure of the entire line!
As long as your kids are old enough to not destroy them, dig away!
Yes, Fett is awesome!
Nice little appearance by 4-lom. He’s one of my favorite obscure star wars characters. I hope to see more of him!

A dark-side-tree Darth? Very cool!
Tree darth?
Dark-side-tree-cave Darth!
I’m really confused.
Is it from this scene? Maybe not, since your Vader’s head would have to be detachable or something!

My bad, I was thinking 4-Lom was a protocol droid working for the empire.
